Glens Falls Symphony Season Finale

The Glens Falls Symphony is hosting their Season Finale concert celebrating Bernstein and Beethoven this Sunday, May 5th at 4pm at the Glens Falls High School Auditorium. 

The concert opens with Bernstein’s evocative Chichester Psalms, then concludes with one of the world’s most beloved masterpieces, Beethoven’s spectacular Symphony No. 9! Special guest vocal soloists Soprano Sylvia D’Eramo, Mezzo Soprano Erica Washburn, Tenor Michael Wade Lee, and Baritone Zachary Johnson, will be joined by a chorus of 175 voices, including Adirondack Voices, Queensbury High School’s Madrigal Singers and Concert Choir, SUNY Adirondack choral groups and others.

Wing Fest Returns to Downtown Glens Falls

Who has the best wings? Find out Saturday, April 27, in Downtown Glens Falls, New York

GLENS FALLS, NY — The Glens Falls Collaborative plans its fifth annual Wing Fest on Saturday, April 27, from noon to 3 p.m. in Downtown Glens Falls. The event is a competition between restaurants for the best wings. Tasting is from noon to 3 p.m. and an awards ceremony at the bandstand in City Park at 3:30 p.m. will close out the event. Tasting Tickets are $1 each, and the number of tickets to taste varies by restaurant. Info: (518) 615-4687.

There will be four prizes up for grabs: Best Overall, Best Visitor (restaurants not located in Downtown Glens Falls), Best Rookie, and Best Non-Meat. Guests will receive paper maps that include People’s Choice Ballots with their tickets. Ballots may be returned to where tickets are on sale.

Each winner may host and proudly display their trophy until Wing Fest 2020.

There will be live music throughout Downtown Glens Falls on three stages and a Beer Garden courtesy of The Queensbury Hotel.

Taste from 20 participating Restaurant. Downtown restaurants will serve from their storefronts and restaurants from outside the city will serve from other storefronts along Glen, Ridge, Bay and Maple Streets.

“We challenge all restaurants to come and see if they can beat the current title holders,” says committee chair Mike DuBray. “We want to find out who has the BEST wings!”

Restaurants that are not setting up in front of their own establishment must fill out a mobile New York State Department of Health permit, available online at www.glensfallscollaborative.com.

This event is produced by the Glens Falls Collaborative with major support from the City of Glens Falls and the Glens Falls Business Improvement District.

The Glens Falls Collaborative was created in 2012 by a group of dedicated merchants who wanted to cross-promote and increase business flowing to Downtown Glens Falls, in cooperation with the City of Glens Falls and the Glens Falls Business Improvement District. The Collaborative has expanded to put on major Downtown events including Pet Fest, Wing Fest, Grandma’s Table, Out to Lunch, Take A Bite, Boo2You, and Hometown Holidays. The Collaborative also creates an incredible map of Glens Falls with a large distribution, beautiful joint advertising, and now includes restaurants, arts and nonprofit organizations, health related businesses, media arts firms, many different service providers and other area businesses.
