The Glens Falls Collaborative announces its biggest Boo2You Halloween festival ever, set for 2-4 and 4-6 p.m. on Saturday, October 24. This event, in its 5th year, partners with Glens Falls’ new ECHL hockey team, the Adirondack Thunder. Children are encouraged to attend in costume to trick or treat and enjoy the festivities.
Activities planned along Glen Street from 2 to 4 p.m. include trick-or-treating at downtown storefronts and along “candy lane” with guest businesses and organizations, costumed characters meeting and greeting the children, Broadway-quality spooky dance performances by local dance schools, and a photo booth courtesy of the Post-Star. The Glens Falls Collaborative table will have a raffle for a free individual adult membership to the Glens Falls Family YMCA.
At 4 p.m., Adirondack Thunder’s mascot Gunnar leads a costume parade from Glen Street to the Civic Center Plaza. Also at 4 p.m., the Charles R. Wood Theater screens the popular 1993 film Hocus Pocus.
Festivities continue at Civic Center Plaza: Photo opportunities with Gunnar courtesy of the Adirondack Thunder and the Post-Star, pony rides, go-go ball and petting zoo courtesy of Word of Life Camp, food trucks and DJ music provided by Regional Radio Group.
At 6 p.m. the Civic Center opens for the Adirondack Thunder’s first regular season game in Glens Falls. The hockey team offers a specially priced package of four Opening Night tickets and a pair of “Thunder Sticks” for $56.
Glen Street will be closed from the Civil War monument to Centennial Circle from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Boo2You is presented by the Glens Falls Collaborative, sponsored by the Glens Falls BID and the City of Glens Falls, and supported by Glens Falls Printing, Glens Falls Art, LLC, the Glens Falls Family YMCA and the Charles R. Wood Theater. Media sponsors are the Post-Star, Mannix Marketing and Regional Radio Group.
